A Mighty Thank You For The Spaghetti Dinner!

Dear Dave and Ann and dear friends of KumboKids and Community,

The Lord Jesus said, “There is no greater love than this, that one should lay down his life for his friends” (Jn. 15:13). “To lay down one’s life for one’s friends” means to sacrifice one’s time, resources, and energy to reach out to one’s friends. Dave and Ann, each year, with a missionary spirit, you sacrifice your time, resources, and energy for the sake of KumboKids and Community, which embodies reaching out to the needy in the Diocese and helping me help others. In this way, you enrich my priestly ministry. I sincerely thank you from the depths of my heart and pray that God may abundantly reward you for your generosity, the spirit of sacrifice, and love.

Dave Norckauer speaks about KumboKids and Community to Spaghetti Dinner attendees.

I equally thank all of you, friends of Dave and Ann, friends of KumboKids and Community, and all people of goodwill who were present at the Spaghetti dinner to raise funds to support the mission of KumboKids and Community. Without your presence, Dave and Ann would have been stranded and frustrated, with no one to eat the food, let alone donate to support our mission. Thank you for your sacrifices, for your time, and for your generosity in supporting me in my priestly service. This is my jubilee year, and I will be praying for your intentions.

Thank you, Jack Reybold and Mary Ann Sorra, for always collaborating with Dave to make sure the letter and the video prepared for the Spaghetti Dinner are ready. Your expertise helps provide the resource materials for the dinner. May your devotion, commitment, and dedication be rewarded by God, now and always.

Dear friends, as we enter the season of Easter, I take this opportunity to wish you a wonderful Easter celebration. May the risen Lord instill and rekindle in your hearts that gift of faith which you received at Baptism. Pope Saint John Paul II said, “We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.” This quote focuses on hope, renewal, and the triumph of life over death. Dear friends, “Easter spells out beauty, the rare beauty of new life.” May your hearts continue to burn with the love of God that propels you to reach out to the needy.

Yes, our need is still greater, and our resources are limited. During my silver Jubilee thanksgiving Masses, I will channel all the proceeds toward the completion of the Church in Nkanchi village. Once more, thank you! May God bless and reward you, now and forever. Amen.

-Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Fale Lon
