The Bamkak’ai Water Project

Imagine having to walk miles each day to bring back clean water to your household.

The goal of the Bamkak’ai Water Project is to bring clean water to approximately 3,000 people in the village of Bamka'k’ai in the Diocese of Kumbo in Cameroon. The water will travel some 30 miles via pipeline from the ____ River in _____ to a reservoir centrally located in Bamkak’ai where it will be treated. This central reservoir will then feed about 25 pumping stations in the village. Fr. Michael _______. and Father Kenneth are teaming up with KumboKids and Community, the Diocese of Kumbo, other contributors and community volunteers to provide villagers in Bamkak’ai clean local water they can access quickly.

The video above shows community volunteers digging the trench in preparation for the eventual installation of the main pipe to the village. When this first phase of the project is completed the community will dig the trenches for the pipes that will transport water to the approximately 25 pumping stations.
